I am always thinking about ways to be as productive as possible in a simple way. I have organized by agenda countless times. Have eliminated some activities I had been doing that brought no purpose to my life. I have also assigned blocks of time to work (and chores) that needed to be done. Lets face it, most of us wear many hats.
The day seemed to go by way too fast and not have enough time to finish everything on my to do list. Most of the time, it had to do with interruptions that kept on coming unexpectedly. Those things happen when you work from home.
One day someone said, “everyone has the same amount of time per day”. That made me realize that if others have been able to manage their responsibilities and still be sane enough to end the day with grace; so could I. That was around the same time I came across Katy Widrick, and she mentioned the Octoblog Challenge.
The Octoblog Challenge consists on taking one step at a time and give your blog a boost. You can join the challenge, there’s no time like the present. The challenge consist on taking your blog and work on it in as small or as big ways as you possible can. For example you can change your profile picture, or update your about section, or create a signature that will appear after each post, or redesign your header. The possibilities are endless. Katy also offers some ideas on her blog. If you haven’t yet, I urge you to go and check her blog, she is a very smart lady. I adore her!
I loved this challenge. Not only do I have manageable goals to better my blog, but they are simple and one day at a time. No pressure. There is a large community of bloggers joining in the challenge as well. I enjoy reading other peoples comments, because that gives me ideas of things I can do to make my blog more accessible and user friendly for readers.
Simplicity comes in many ways. This is a very simple way to end with a more beautiful blog by November. One day at a time. Simple steps, big results.
I still have a long way to go, this blog sure can use some TLC, but the best part is that I have started working on beautifying this blog. I challenge you to check it out and take the step into simplicity by joining the Octoblog Challenge. It is super fun.
